About Jim
Jim Gahen is a leader in the field of Professional Coaching. He founded the International Coaching Society, which presently has 300 members worldwide. His company, I Champion You, focuses on product development with the executive, manager, or entrepreneur as the product. Jim's successful background in sales makes him a natural in the world of Professional Coaching. Jim has appeared in numerous publications, on television and radio. In addition, he leads seminars across the country. His mission is to empower, motivate and inspire others through sharing his love and experience to create a world where dreams come true and people love life.
Jim has developed and presented the Power Of Coaching Workshop to hundreds of people, and has professionally coached over 1000 clients in life balance, job transitions, marriage challenges, partnership arrangements, large project coordination, sales performance, business plan applications, preparation for business sales, and employee and executive skill sets. He has developed program criteria for successful coaching certification programs and directed focus for outcomes and standards. He has also created an accelerated course on applying coaching skills for consultants who wanted to use coaching in their existing business relationships.
Jim pioneered a bench-marking tool (designed for the first aid and safety industry) to be used as a candidate selection system and powerful coaching tool for sales managers and owners. He has designed, developed and marketed tools to coaches to assist them in establishing powerful coaching relationships and the needed structures to move clients forward while maintaining integrity and professionalism in the coaching community. Additionally, Jim was nominated to be one of the top ten coaches in the field.
Prior to becoming a professional coach, Jim worked in sales and was Salesman of the Month eight times in one year. He signed the single largest account in the history of the company, successfully managed route sales people to grow sales and profitability of accounts, and trained sales people and distributors in a franchised sales program.
Jim also trained as an interventionist with Vern Johnson and offered services to families with dually addicted family members. He successfully educated and enrolled families into recovery from various addictions including alcoholism, bulimia, anorexia, and drug usage.
Jim has a Bachelors Degree in Marketing and a certification in Intervention Counseling. He lives in La Mesa, California with his wife, Kathie, and dog, Hana.
Additionally, Jim has a pilot license, has run five marathons and has done inside circle training at Folsom State Prison.
